Superwash Merino Aran has a simple construction of 2/3.5nm giving 175m (191 yds) per 100g hank. Superwash Merino Aran is made with 100% superwashed merino meaning the yarn has been specially treated before being spun to enable it to be machine washable, therefore will not ‘felt’ when dyed or washed. Therefore it is a great yarn for an easy-care garment. We have used soft 21 micron merino in the yarn which is not itchy or scratchy next to the skin. Merino has a natural elasticity which helps a garment stretch yet return back to its original shape. It also has great insulating properties providing a thermal layer of warmth when needed. The wool is mulesing free and comes from South America. This yarn is 100% natural fibre and perfect for dyeing. The yarn is naturally pale in colour and would dye up well in subtle light shades or bright and vibrant colours. For bright vibrant colours we recommend using acid or natural dyes.
